Infant Adoption Program

The Infant Adoption Program of Catholic Social Services (CSS) is licensed in the State of Alaska as a child placement agency and has been facilitating adoptions for over 40 years. The Infant Adoption program provides adoption services to prospective and adoptive families in coordination with the CSS Pregnancy Support Services program. In this program we typically place children who are between newborn and two years old.

    All families must complete an educational workshop with Catholic Social Services prior to obtaining an application packet.  This workshop allows families to learn more about the Infant Adoption Program at CSS and includes the following topics: Openness in Adoption, Adopting Transracially, and Understanding Birth Parents.  This workshop is completed through a combination of self-study (using articles and videos) and weekly one hour conferences (in person or by phone).  Please submit the intake form below for more information regarding our Infant Adoption Program and to be contacted by the Adoption Coordinator.

  • Adoption education, counseling and support
  • Infertility and grief counseling and support
  • Home study services
  • Facilitation of placement of the child
  • Post-placement support and monitoring for six months

Are you an Adoption Agency outside of Alaska and need assistance facilitating a placement?
 

CSS also works with interstate adoptions by providing those services required by the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) for children adopted across state lines.CSS focuses on the best interest of the child. We support the moral and legal rights of all parties involved. CSS is an established agency and is available for long-term support for both the birth families and the adoptive families.
